Undergraduate Business Program

The first year of the BBA program consists of preparatory study which includes required and elective courses.

In the first year of study at the Burnaby campus, BBA students complete required courses and elective courses of their choice. It is recommended that students limit their enrollment to 3-4 courses in their first semester at SFU to ensure a successful transition.

Scholarship students should review the conditions of their award for the number of credits they must enrol in.

*Engl / Phil / WL course = one of Engl 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 199 or Phil 001, 100, 120 or WL 101, 103 or 104.

Over the course of the BBA, students must register in and complete six mandatory Business Career Passport workshops. The workshops may be completed in any order. However, it is strongly recommended that students take the Self-Assessment and Finding Your Fit workshop in their first 60 units. Visit: beedie.sfu.ca/careerpassport

In the first year of study at the Surrey campus, BBA students complete required courses and elective courses in:

*Please note that the Business via BusOne option is also available at the Burnaby campus.
These integrated elective courses provide a good knowledge base for business students.

In third and fourth year, students select one or more areas of concentrations. During third year, students complete the core business courses as well as some courses towards their concentration(s). In their final year, students take classes exclusive to their concentration(s) and any outstanding elective requirements.
