"It's meaningful work," she says. "Since it's a relatively new field, it's very exciting - there's the opportunity to develop new standards and ideas." Dr. Egri makes leadership and environmental sustainability the focus of her teaching, both for the Beedie School of Business and for other organizations, including the International Finance Corporation in Washington, DC, a member of the World Bank Group. Recognition of her teaching include the 2012 David L. Bradford Outstanding Educator Award from the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society for Management Educators, and the 2004 TD Canada Trust Distinguished Teaching Award from the SFU Beedie School of Business. A prolific researcher with numerous research grants, she has been examining corporate environmental and social responsibility practices as well as cross-cultural differences in managerial values and influence tactics around the world. Her research has been published in top tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies, Organization Science, and the Strategic Management Journal. Dr. Egri devotes much of her time to service in her academic community; she is an Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Learning & Education journal, and has been chair of the Academy of Management's Organizations and the Natural Environment interest group and of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council's Research Development Initiatives adjudication committee.
